What does a Double Layer Nozzle do?
The double layer nozzle is specially designed for cutting sheets (such as ST37, ST52, DKP, HRP, and HARDOX) using oxygen assist gas in fiber laser cutting machines.
Thanks to its nested, dual-body structure, it reduces gas velocity and prevents turbulence (eddies), delivering a calm, stable, and laminar oxygen flow to the cutting area. This controlled flow:
Prevents uncontrolled burning of the sheet metal and corner melting.
Ensures the cutting kerf remains clean, vertical, and smooth.
Eliminates the risk of blowout or boiling, offering a stable and high-precision cutting performance at low pressures (0.5 – 2.5 bar).
